Objective & content

This A1- documentary presents Jambalaya, a rice dish from Louisiana, and explains how French, Spanish, African and Native American cooking came together in one pot. The script describes the "holy trinity" of onions, green peppers and celery, the two types (Creole and Cajun), and the Jambalaya Festival in Gonzales. The language focus is the present simple to describe how a dish is made, with there is and there are for the people of Louisiana and food and cooking vocabulary. The main skill is listening comprehension, then the in-app quiz.
