Objective & content
This A1- documentary presents poutine, a Canadian dish from Quebec. It tells two origin stories: Fernand Lachance and his Café Idéal in Warwick in 1957, and Jean-Paul Roy in Drummondville in 1964. The script then explains the name and the three parts of the dish: French fries, white cheese and hot brown sauce. The language focus is the present simple to describe the dish and the past simple for the stories of its origin, with food and cooking vocabulary. The main skill is listening comprehension, then the in-app quiz.
