Objective & content
This activity sheet is about the family, with clothes and colours. A big line drawing shows a family of six standing in a row: a grandma, a grandad, a mum, a dad, a girl and a little boy. Pupils read six sentences with has got and colour what each one says, then write the family word under each person. By the end, pupils say The grandad has got a brown hat. and The girl has got an orange T-shirt.
Pedagogical guide
Task 1 is the picture. From left to right: the grandma (curly hair, glasses, a cardigan and a skirt), the grandad (a hat), the mum (long hair), the dad (a beard), the girl (a ponytail) and the little boy holding a ball. Look at it with the class and point to each person. Task 2 gives six sentences: "The grandma has got a purple cardigan and a green skirt.", "The grandad has got a brown hat.", "The mum has got long yellow hair and a red top.", "The dad has got a black beard and a blue jumper.", "The girl has got an orange T-shirt." and "The boy has got a red ball." Each thing belongs to one person only, so pupils find the person, read the sentence and colour what it says. Task 3 asks pupils to write the family word under each person in the picture, then complete one sentence starting with The ... about one of them. Page 2 lists the colours to check for each person, with the teacher notes.
