Objective & content
This activity sheet is about the weather. Kabir, a boy in a yellow raincoat with an umbrella, shows his week: a chart with one weather picture for each day from Monday to Friday. Pupils learn six weather words (sunny, rainy, cloudy, windy, snowy, stormy), read the chart, answer questions and check sentences about it, then draw today's weather. By the end, pupils ask and answer What's the weather like on Monday? It's sunny.
Pedagogical guide
Task 1 gives the six weather words, each under its picture, to read and say. Task 2 is Kabir's week: Monday is sunny, Tuesday rainy, Wednesday cloudy, Thursday windy and Friday stormy. Every answer on the sheet comes from this chart, so pupils check each one with their eyes. Task 3 asks four questions ("What's the weather like on Monday?") and pupils complete "It's ..." with the weather word: sunny, rainy, windy and stormy. Task 4 gives six sentences ("It's rainy on Tuesday.") and pupils circle Yes or No; three are true and three are not. Snowy is one of the six words but never in the chart, so "It's snowy on Friday." is a No: it is stormy. Task 5 brings it back to the class: pupils draw today's weather in the frame and complete "Today it's ...". Page 2 gives the answer key and the teacher notes.
Suggested procedure
- (5 min) Look out of the window with the class and ask: "What's the weather like today?"
- (5 min) Task 1: read the six weather words together, with a gesture for each.
- (5 min) Task 2: look at Kabir's week and say each day and its weather together.
- (10 min) Tasks 3 and 4: pupils answer the questions with "It's ..." and circle Yes or No; check together.
- (5 min) Task 5: pupils draw today's weather and write their sentence.
Adaptations
[S] Say the days of the week together first, pointing at each day in the chart.

Materials & prerequisites
One copy per pupil of page 1, in colour or black and white. Pupils need only a pencil. Page 2 is the answer key with teacher notes: keep it. Pupils should have met the days of the week; the weather words are taught on the sheet.
Possible adaptations
