1. Lanzar, tirar
- He threw the ball. — Lanzó el balón.
- Don't throw stones! — ¡No tires piedras!
2. Phrasal verb: throw away / throw out
Throw away = tirar (a la basura).
- I threw away the old papers. — Tiré los papeles viejos.
- Throw it out! — ¡Tíralo!
3. Throw a party
Throw a party = montar una fiesta.
- They threw a big party. — Montaron una fiesta enorme.
Las trampas que debes evitar
1. Threw vs through
Homófonos peligrosos. I threw the ball (verbo). I walked through the park (preposición). Los dos empiezan por th, un sonido que ya tienes en español (zapato, cinco): la dificultad aquí es solo ortográfica.
2. Make a party ❌
En español hacer vale para casi todo, y por eso sale make a party o do a party. En inglés la fiesta se lanza: throw a party (también have a party).

¿Cuál es el pasado de throw en inglés?+
El pasado simple de to throw es threw. El participio pasado es thrown. Throw → threw → thrown.
¿Cuál es la diferencia entre threw y through?+
Threw = pasado simple de throw (el verbo lanzar). Through = a través de (preposición). Suenan igual, /θruː/, pero significan cosas distintas. Es una confusión clásica al escribir.
¿Cómo se dice «tirar a la basura» en inglés?+
Throw away o throw out. I threw it away (UK/US) o I threw it out (US). Más directo aún: put it in the bin (UK) / trash can (US).
¿Cómo se dice «montar una fiesta» en inglés?+
Throw a party (expresión idiomática). They threw a huge party = montaron un fiestón. No se dice make a party ni do a party.
¿Por qué no se dice throwed?+
Throw es irregular. Su pasado simple es threw y su participio pasado thrown. Nunca throwed.
