Qual è il past simple del verbo strive?+
Strove (forma classica, britannica). Strived (americano, regolare, accettato). Participio passato: striven (classico) oppure strived. Stessa famiglia di drive → drove → driven.
Che differenza c'è tra strive e try?+
Strive = sforzarsi (formale, letterario, idea di un impegno che dura). Try = provare (parlato, comune). Strive for greatness (letterario) vs Try to be good (parlato).
Si dice strive for o strive to?+
Strive FOR + nome: strive for excellence (puntare all'eccellenza). Strive TO + verbo: strive to succeed (sforzarsi di riuscire). Sono tutte e due costruzioni comuni.
Striving si usa come aggettivo?+
