Objective & content
This A1- documentary presents haggis, a traditional Scottish dish, and starts with the joke that Scottish people tell tourists about an animal called the wild haggis. It then describes the real ingredients (sheep meat, onions, oats and salt) and the poet Robert Burns, who wrote about haggis in 1786. The script ends with Burns Night on January 25th, served with "neeps and tatties", and vegetarian haggis today. The language focus is the present simple to describe a dish, with food and cooking vocabulary and the articles a, an and the. The main skill is listening comprehension, then the in-app quiz.
