Objective & content
This documentary presents Yellowstone National Park in the Rocky Mountains, mostly in Wyoming. It explains that a giant supervolcano under the ground heats the water, which is why the park has about 500 geysers such as Old Faithful, and it describes Grand Prismatic Spring. The script also covers bison, grizzly bears and the wolves brought back in 1995, the Tukudika people, and the national park created in 1872. The main language focus is present simple description with past simple for dated facts, plus vocabulary of geology and wildlife. Learners practise listening comprehension, and the script states calmly that "The supervolcano sleeps now."
