Objective & content

This documentary episode of Animals & Creatures of Australia presents the kangaroo, the most famous animal of the country, in an A1- script. The narrator says the kangaroo is a type of marsupial, then describes how a joey lives in its mother's pouch, the main types of kangaroo, how kangaroos jump and why their legs and tail matter, and how a mob lives. The language focus is the present simple, with be, have and can for description and ability, and animal and physical-description vocabulary (joey, pouch, mob, predator, tail). The skill is listening for facts about an animal, as in "A group of kangaroos is called a mob."
