Objective & content

This documentary episode of Animals & Creatures of Australia presents the common brushtail possum in an A1- script. It opens with a night scene of strange sounds on a roof, then describes the animal (size, ears, hair, a tail like "a fifth hand"), its joey and pouch, its move from forests to towns, what it eats, and how it became a problem in New Zealand. The language focus is the present simple, with be, can and basic adjectives for description, prepositions of place, and animal and house vocabulary (roof, tail, branch, garden). The skill is listening for facts about an animal and its habitat.
