Teaching guide
Objective & content
Fish and Chips get ready for school. Fish packs a book, a pen and a pencil, then, being "a real expert", a chair and a desk, until the bag is taller than he is and he falls over backwards. Chips only takes one pencil. The vocabulary is six classroom words: bag, book, pen, pencil, desk and chair. The grammar is the demonstrative this in the fixed test question "What's this?" / "And this?", with short answers such as "Book!". Pupils listen, point at the objects and repeat the words: no reading or writing is asked.
Materials & prerequisites
The folder holds no printable sheets and no lesson plan. You need the episode audio and slideshow, and real classroom objects if you want pupils to point at a bag, a book, a pen, a pencil, a desk and a chair. No prior grammar is assumed.
