Teaching guide
Objective & content
In a sunny garden Fish and Chips hang out the washing side by side. Fish pegs each item and names it while Chips repeats it; then Fish takes a very big basket, his line sags lower and lower, and it finally springs round him. The episode focuses on five clothes words (T-shirt, trousers, dress, coat, socks), with "What's this?" and "And this?" as the test frames. Pupils listen, point at the garment in the picture and repeat after the characters, and in the closing test they name each close-up, as Chips does: "Socks!" No reading or writing is involved.
Materials & prerequisites
The folder holds no printable sheets and no lesson plan, so the episode is used on its own (audio and slideshow). No prior English is assumed. Pupils can point at the clothes they are wearing while they repeat.
