What is The Big Challenge?
The Big Challenge is a fun English contest organised every year in several European countries. The contest is open to students from Grade 3 to Grade 9, helping them to make progress in English while having fun.
Key features of the contest
- Participating countries: France, Germany, Austria, Spain, Italy, Poland, Belgium, the Netherlands, Luxembourg and Brazil. Each country is independent, and there is no ranking between countries.
- Format: A multiple-choice questionnaire (MCQ) lasting 45 minutes, taken directly in schools.
- Accessibility: The contest is open to all students from Grade 3 to Grade 9.
- Number of participants: Every year, more than 500,000 students take part in the contest.
- Rewards: Every student receives a prize, whatever their result.

To help students prepare for the contest, The Big Challenge offers The Big Challenge PLAY, an interactive app available all year round.

- Access typical contest questions through the "Quiz" mode, which uses original contest questions.
- Strengthen your language skills in English through play.
