Registration fees for The Big Challenge: prices, payment options and billing procedures. Find out how the fees are used and how invoicing works.
Which levels are offered?
The question papers are designed according to the level matching the student's school year. This level takes into account the CEFR requirements for each school year. Here is the correspondence table:
| Level | CEFR level |
|---|---|
| Primary | A1- |
| Level 1 | A1 - A1+ |
| Level 2 | A1+ - A2 |
| Level 3 | A2 |
| Level 4 | A2 - A2+ |
| Level 5 | B1 |
Who pays the registration fees?

- The students' parents.
- The school.
- A joint contribution from both.
- The school's support association.
How much are the registration fees?

How do I collect the registration fees?
The registration fees are paid either by the students' parents, by the school, or by both. The school's support association often contributes to these fees as well.
They can be paid by bank transfer. The information on payment arrangements is sent in the registration confirmation email.
How do I make a payment?
The accepted payment method is:
- Bank transfer.
All the information you need to make a payment will also be provided once you have completed the registration form available on this page, and will likewise be included in the acknowledgement of your registration.
I need an invoice
An invoice for part or all of your payment for participating in The Big Challenge can be issued on request. To arrange this, please contact us.
Some of my students were absent on the day of the contest. Can they be refunded?
From as early as September, we place advance orders for the prizes, which we confirm on the registration closing date. It is therefore absolutely impossible for us to issue any refund. However, even if some students are absent on the day of the contest, the school will still receive prizes for all the students registered (whether present on the day or not), since these prizes have been purchased and cannot be stored for the following years.
How are the registration fees used?
The registration fees make it possible to fund the entire cost of organising the contest. Here is what these fees cover:
- Creating the questions and teaching materials.
- Printing and sending the registration packs and posters.
- Printing, putting together and sending the contest question papers.
- Processing the answer sheets by optical reading.
- Preparing and sending the prize parcels.
- Maintaining the app and the website.
These fees ensure the quality and continuity of the contest without any public funding.
