Teaching guide
Objective & content
A guide shows a curious listener that American Halloween is a whole season, not one evening. They cover house decorations, the twelve-foot lawn skeleton, pumpkins and the pumpkin patch, trunk or treat in a school parking lot, the candy Americans buy and costumes for pets. The language focus is the present simple, with some short comparatives, and Halloween and celebration vocabulary. Learners listen for the big numbers first, then for the customs, and then work through the student sheet. One line to listen for: "A dog, dressed as a hot dog."
