Objective & content
Jeff guides a learner along the East Coast, the strip of states beside the Atlantic Ocean, and the episode calls back to the capital joke and the time zones of episode 1. They cover the thirteen colonies, about 64 million people, Washington, D.C. for the government, Wall Street in New York for the money, and the five "BosWash" cities from Boston to Washington. They also talk about Eastern Time, boardwalks and the autumn leaves. Learners practise present simple, superlatives (the oldest, the earliest) and prepositions of place and time, with large numbers and the seasons. The main skill is listening; one line to notice is "BosWash. Sounds like a detergent."
Materials & prerequisites
