Teaching guide

Objective & content

This recap episode closes the first module of Now You Say It. Max and Mila each introduce themselves in short, fixed sentences: name, age, brothers and sisters, where they live, what they like and how they feel today. Luna and Ben then arrive, and the narrator asks the class six questions in a row, each followed by a silence for the pupils to answer aloud. The focus is on question forms and question words (What's your name?, How old are you?, Where do you live?) with vocabulary for family and feelings. Pupils only listen, repeat and speak: no reading or writing is involved.

Materials & prerequisites

The episode audio and slideshow are the only materials: there are no printables and no lesson plan for this episode. Pupils should have met the six questions in the earlier episodes of the module, because the recap does not teach them again.

Curriculum alignment

Tagged c3-child-and-close-environment: cycle 3 (6e), pre-A1 level (A0-), with listening comprehension, functional language and spoken interaction as the skills targeted.

Possible adaptations

  • Lower levels: Offer segmented listening and additional visual aids.
  • Advanced levels: Encourage an oral summary and a debate in English on the theme.
  • Large groups: Organise group work with differentiated roles.
