Teaching guide

Objective & content

Max, Mila, Luna and Ben each answer the narrator's question in turn, and each scene shows a different kind of weather. The episode teaches one fixed question and answer, with the question word "what" and the verb "be" inside it: "What's the weather like?" and "It's sunny." The weather words are sunny, rainy, windy and cold, and the pictures show each one. At the end the kids say "Now you say it!" and the class answers aloud after a pause of about four seconds. Pupils listen, point at the picture and repeat; nothing is read or written.

Materials & prerequisites

The episode has no printable sheets and no lesson plan. Prepare a window or a few weather pictures to point at. No prior grammar is assumed: the question and the answer are taught as whole phrases.

Curriculum alignment

Tagged c3-child-and-passing-time (cycle 3, 6e). The episode targets CEFR level A0-.

Possible adaptations

  • Lower levels: Offer segmented listening and additional visual aids.
