Teaching guide

Objective & content

The narrator asks Max, Mila, Luna and Ben the same question, and each names a different breakfast. Max says "I eat cereal and a banana", Mila eats toast and yogurt, Luna eats pancakes and Ben eats bacon and eggs. The pre-A1 pupils hear the fixed question "What do you eat for breakfast?" and the chunk "I eat...", with the present simple taught as a set phrase and not analysed. The food words are shown on the plate in each picture, so pupils point at the food and repeat. At the end the kids say "Now you say it!" and the class answers aloud after about four seconds of silence. No reading or writing is involved.
