Teaching guide
Objective & content
This A1+ documentary, "Money", is a dialogue between a guide and a student who looks at a British pound coin. They count its twelve sides, talk about the animals on the small coins, the King who faces left on every coin and note, and the famous people on the back of the notes. The guide also explains "one penny, two pence" and says the pound is about one thousand, two hundred years old. The language focus is the present simple, imperatives ("Look at your coin again.") and numbers, with money and famous-people vocabulary. The skill is listening, followed by the in-app quiz.
