Objective & content
Two friends tour British culture through five well-known names: Shakespeare and his invented words, J.K. Rowling and the first Harry Potter book written in Edinburgh, the Beatles and their 18 UK number-one singles, David Bowie and his character Ziggy Stardust, and the street artist Banksy, whose painting shredded itself at an auction in 2018. The main grammar point is the past simple, regular and irregular, used to tell what each person did; present simple questions with wh-words also appear. Vocabulary comes from famous people, music and art. Learners listen for numbers, dates and names, then answer the in-app questions. One line to notice: "You can just... invent words?"
